Well, it happened. I dropped the ball and missed a day. Still, I went 20 straight days posting once a every single day. That counts for something, right?
Funnily enough, I realized I could manually set the published date on a post. I could have posted something today and just set the date to yesterday. But that sort of defeats the purpose of posting every day. Kind of like publishing an unfinished post before midnight, then actually finishing it with edits. That's happened a few times now. Hell, I'm still several posts behind on proofreading these things. It's probably for the best to stop daily posting. I had already gotten through a good backlog of things to get off my chest, and this week I was struggling to come up with worthwhile things to post about. We still made out alright, though.
This week we talked a little bit about new developments in ARventure. I backpedaled on the tile texturing system I introduced last week, then went on to add support for zooming and rotating the map. After that, we briefly discussed my torrid affair with Haxe. Then we started a new mini-series for ARventure where we look at each of the NPC's that will be in the game. To start things off, we took a look at the knight and the explorer. Then I messed up and missed a day. But it's all for the best, I promise.
This week I'm going to get the quest system for ARventure going. My next post will cover the ground work for it. However, I'm not going to be posting everyday from here on out. When the quest system is in a state that it is worth discussing, that's when I'll post. Once we have the basis for quests done, I will also write a post about the different types of quest objectives I plan to implement. That's maybe 3 posts this week, if all goes well.
I'm actually somewhat relieved that the daily posts are through. When I started out, posting daily was easy. I had a lot to get off my chest, and posting once a day helped me pace myself. Now that we've gotten through most of what I wanted to talk about, daily posting became a bit of a chore. I can always find things to talk about, but I'd rather have a few concise, focused posts over a whole lot of vague, pointless ones. Moving forward, this blog is going to be a bit of a dev blog for ARventure, with some assorted ramblings sprinkled in. And that sounds good to me.
Oh and something something no meaningful conclusion. I'm off to watch Better Call Saul.
