Week 2 in Review

Here we are, another week into this blogging business. I even made it through another week of daily blog posts. Older posts are already getting pushed off the front page. And now we're getting into the ongoing development of my projects. Exciting stuff. Let's take a look at what we got through.

This week we started off by finishing the history of Served, and its transition into hxsvr. Then we started up a series on ARventure, my most recent project and even talked a bit about what I'm working on currently. We also briefly discussed Flub, the approach I used when developing ARventure that worked out magnificently. Look forward to seeing more about ARventure, it's probably going to be our main series until the game is complete.

This coming week, I don't have a whole lot planned. We've made it through all the histories of my major projects, so posts about them will only come as fast as I can make meaningful progress. I'm going to focus back on ARventure for a while, make some improvements to the visuals and hopefully get the quest system (at least somewhat) functional. Beyond that, we may talk about the cast of NPC characters that I have planned for the game, but that would require me to do some more art work, so we'll see about that. Lacking any major updates for ARventure, I would like to write a brief post on Haxe and maybe another post-mortem-esque post on one of my older projects such as Eden or Don't Get Shot. We'll see what the future holds.

In other news, the blog is still going strong. Sort of. I still care way more than I ought to about churning out a post daily.  Last week I said I wasn't sure how long I could keep this up and now I'm definitely reaching my limit. For a couple posts this week, I got to the point where I hastily wrote and published them before midnight, then proofread and improved the post afterward. Kind of cheating, I know, but you wouldn't even have known if I hadn't told you. If and when I finally miss a post, try to forgive me. I'd hate to start doing silly things to keep this up like "No post today" posts or publishing empty posts and filling them in with edits.

Before I close out, I've got to say, writing these posts is still genuinely helpful. There's been a few instances already where I'm typing up a post and actually work through a problem or come up with a new idea as I'm writing. It has given me some ideas for new topics to start writing about. I know I said I wouldn't go very technical with this blog, but we may start sprinkling in the occasional bit of rubber duck debugging.

But that's about all I've got for now. As always, no meaningful conclusion to be found.
