Week 7 Didn't Happen (This is Week 8)
Still alive. Miss me? Last week was a bit of a non-starter, so I passed on the blogging. Life stuff got in the way of development stuff, and since we don't care about life stuff here, there wasn't anything worth posting about. Then I had a pretty action packed weekend last week, culminating in a seven hour car ride home on Monday. After that, I really wasn't feeling a weekly review. And thus, we missed one. Oh well.
All that said, I bet you're wondering where we're at now. Week seven I really didn't have any time to put into the (not-so) small side project I'm working on, which basically left us where we were at the week before. The TL;DR of that, incase you're out of the loop, was that I've got a side project I'm working on, it may take a little longer than expected, and I will post about it when it's done. And that's still pretty much where we're at. I've put some more time into the project, and certainly making progress, but the deeper I get, the more work I see ahead. This doesn't bother me in the slightest though. I'm having a lot of fun working on the project and learning quite a bit in the process. The only downside is I don't have anything to show for it with my 'post when it's done' philosophy.
Obviously, the problem of having nothing to show can be easily rectified, though I am hesitant to do so. Lacking any other content, this coming week I may start up series on the project, discussing all the trials and tribulations I've run into. It could be a decent topic of interest as there are more than a few quirks in both Python and Haxe that make porting tricky. However, it could also be a bit of a dead end as far as a series goes, given the nature of the project. Porting a Python library to Haxe has notably fewer major development milestones than something like ARventure. So it's a bit of a toss up between no posts and starting a series that may come out poorly. I suppose we'll see what I decide to do in a few days.
That's all for now. Hopefully we'll talk again soon. If not, don't hold it against me.
